Neoprene (THNEO141860)

Neoprene rubber is a highly resistant material and is used for a variety of outdoor and marine applications, it is produced by the polymerization of chloroprene. Neoprene Rubber offers engineers an excellent sealing material with good wear characteristics and good flame resistance or self-extinguishing properties. It is widely used in the transport industry in the production of door seals, flexible connectors and gaskets. Because of these qualities, Neoprene is also used for applications such as corrosion-resistant coatings and landfill linings.
Neoprene rubber has a perfect balance of mechanical properties and fatigue resistance which is second only to natural rubber. Neoprene rubber also has superior oil, chemical and heat resistance. Neoprene rubber sheeting is also used to provide noise isolation in power transformers and as a base for adhesives. It’s resistance to burning has led to it being used as weather stripping for fire doors, specialist grades are available to use in bridge bearing applications on civil engineering projects and as anti-vibration mounts for engineering equipment.
